Whether you buy a house in Puerto Vallarta or some other Mexican city, there are some steps you should know about the home purchasing process. The purchasing process in Mexico is not the same as the process in Mexico. For example, a notary in Mexico is not like a notary in the U.S. Just about anybody can be a notary in the U.S., but in Mexico, a notary is appointed by the governor of that state, is an attorney, has a law firm for at least 35 years, and has worked for notary’s office for at least 3 years. So, when you get something notarized in Mexico, it is a big deal – not just a stamp from any notary in the U.S.
